The Thames-Coromandel District Council is advising locals that some building consent fees and charges have changed, as of July 1.
Council has two key roles in building control - processing, inspecting and certifying building work via the Building Consent process, plus that of a Territorial Authority with a focus on public safety.

Given the range of building project works council processes there are a range of fees which are applicable.
These usually consist of an initial fee and any further fees required are charged at an hourly rate if technical advice or processing exceeds the initial fee.
The council advises locals to read its updated ‘building consent fee' guidance document prior to lodging consents, which can be downloaded from here.
Locals can also see the full updated 2015/2016 building consent fees on the Thames-Coromandel District Council's fees and charges page at: tcdc.govt.nz/Our-Services/Fees-and-Charges/
For more information or if you have any questions call council's Building Consents team on 07-868-0200.
