Southbound traffic intending to use Cameron Road in Tauranga over the next few days is being encouraged to use Takitimu Drive until at least Friday.

Tauranga City Council communications advisor Marcel Currin says a construction project on 3rd Avenue is in the process of erecting a 33m-long gantry.

'They require a lane closure on Cameron Road in order to install it,” explains Marcel.

'Installation will take two-to-three days, so we have said Wednesday and Friday to be safe.

'Southbound traffic is encouraged to use Takitimu Drive as an alternative.”
