The Bay of Plenty has landed three of the top 10 swimming spots in New Zealand according to AA Directions magazine.
Rotorua's Kerosene Creek, Taupo's Bulli Point and Lake Rotoiti made the list of the best swimming holes in the country.

The number one spot was taken by Karekare Falls in Waitakere, Auckland, which was followed by Bulli Point in second.
The magazine described the Taupo attraction as having ledges of varying heights for swimmers to leap into the lake. The popular spot is located on the main road between Taupo and Turangi.
Kerosene Creek took fourth on the list. The thermally heated river is situated between Rotorua and Taupo and is free to the public.
Rounding off the line-up was Lake Rotoiti, which shares tenth spot with Nelson Lakes, in the South Island.
Both locations were favoured for their long wooden jetty, which prove popular with swimmers to jump off.

Wrong Lake Rotoiti

I think number ten is referring to Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes Park, not Lake Rotoiti in the BOP. Don't think there's any sharing of spots.
