City Council building evacuated

Reports are emerging that Tauranga City Council's main administration building on Willow Street has been evacuated this morning.

The exact reason for the evacuation is unknown at this time, but a recorded message on the council's 5777000 number states: "Our office is open today, but it has been evacuated due to an emergency."

The city's emergency services are unaware of the evacuation at this stage, suggesting the procedure could be a pre-planned drill.

However, there has been no official confirmation as yet. SunLive will keep you updated with any further developments.

Thought there was no one still left in the TCC building after the mould culture but seems they have found a few more or is it just a cunning plan to cull staff under the guise of emergency evacuation.

They all just want to get out of the building like the rest have, have a few hours in the sun and then wander back or better still home for the weekend.
