DEMOCRACY - YEAH RIGHT

Posted on 21-03-2011 20:42 | By TERMITE

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN A SIMPLE CONCEPT TO ME ... UNDER THE HEADING "DECOMCRACY" IT SAYS "PUBLIC EXCLUDED SECTION" DID I MISS SOMETHIGN OR WHAT EHRE ? SINCE WHEN DID IT HAPPEN THAT NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO HEAR WHAT THE POINT HEADS SAY ABOUT EACH OTHER?

Public Excluded section

From time to time elected members have matters to consider that are of a 'personal nature' (potential privacy breach), an incomplete commercial negotiation, etc that requires the press and public to be excluded. Occasionally not all EM's agree on when confidentiality is applied, but mostly. Generally the subject matter and or decision is opened to public scrutiny as soon as reasonable.

TRAIN NO RAILS NO WHERE TO GO

Come on Murray, that is a bit like telling me that 'MT GREENS' was a good idea, perhaps if TCC was a bit more open and so no behind closed door dealings then such massive debt blowout deals like that would be avoided becasue other than POINTY HEADS would place an opinion on the table. We need an "INDEPENDENT of TCC MONITOURING COMMITTEE" to review every decision made by TCC.

MURRY'S PERSONAL NATURE ? EXCUSES

MURRAY, ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT WHEN THE EM's TAKE A FEW PERSONAL SHOTS AT EACH OTHER AND BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT YOU DON'T WANT ANY OF THAT IN THE PAPER, BUT STILL WISH TO INDULGE IN THE SLUG OUT SESSION UNABATTED?

SHIFTING THE SILT

Posted on 23-03-2011 10:34 | By The Master

From between the toes ... the confidential aspect of TCC meetings is the concern as it is contrary to being publically accountable. To many excuses are provided for closing the doors to teh public. In truth the real reason is more in the category of not wanting anyone to know what silly decisions are being considered and the shoe string viability of any of them. End result if you can not make a decision and have others review it during the process then that only say to me that you should not be doing it in the first place.
