Some residents in Matapihi are without water after a water main break.
The Matapihi Road water main was reported broken at about 5am Thursday morning, causing most homes on the Matapihi peninsula to lose water.
The area from Hungahungatoraoa Road area up until R250 Matapihi Road will remain without water for several more hours.
Water to the western end of the peninsula was restored at about 8.30am.
Some road damage has occurred in the area of the water main break, which is near the railway crossing on Matapihi Road near Owens Place.
There may be some traffic disruption while repairs are underway.
It is unknown at this stage what caused the damage to the water main.

SSSP ? What has that got to do with water, you are lucky that the sewer pipe isnt plugged into your park over the back fence, although you should be worried about the SSSP soon to be spreading over a place near you soon.

ROCKY, according to Bill there are three waters, so at least with the SSSP you will have something. Murray & Co say that there is plenty of water in the Mount, so take you cannister there to get a top up.
