The government is listening

Tauranga MP Simon Bridges says the National Government is proving a good listener with it responding positively to public opinion on three issues of interest in the Bay of Plenty.

See video interview with Tauranga MP Simon Bridges below.

These include: the banning of the sale of legal ‘highs' such as Kronic, giving assurance of funding retention for early childhood education and in building a new police station in Tauranga.

Simon discusses these issues on video below.

This would be the "Judas Keys Gang" who "listened" to the public over the foreshore rort, anti smacking farce, emissions-for-money debacle etc, and still expect people to TRUST them ????

Three cheers xenasdad - you have it 100% correct. Simon start swimming because I doubt very much you will hold any reigns next election - I and many Nat supporters are totally disenchanted with the ETS - the SB & FS the anti smacking the prospect of selling off any more of our family silver etc etc etc - I am looking for a poli who has guts and determination to return to common sense by repealing all this damaging legislation.

To the Moaners

Wake up complainers. Simon is the first MP to really represent this city in a long time.... Winston was all about Winston and I doubt he spent the time that I hear Simon spends meeting with people in his office to help them with all sorts of issues. He is always going to community events and is far more in touch with everyday people. As for boobs on bikes, from what I can tell that was an issue for council - not our MP, and anyway Simon did come out at the start and say he didn't think it was appropriate for here. As for waitandwatch wanting to hear from the Labour candidate - I don't think they even have one here so you could be waiting and watching for a while yet.....

Fess up Simon

What's happening with Welcome Bay Simon? Is it true that we're trading Route K for the tunnel? This is a legitimate question and we deserve an answer! REMEMBER YOUR ELECTION PLEDGE OR BE FOREVER CONSIDERED JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN THAT TELLS PORKIES!!!!

We've been assured ...

Simon has confirmed that the Government is not going to renege on the $100m central corridor upgrade promise - regardless of attempts by the NZTA and TCC to undermine and derail this vital upgrade for reasons not disclosed and far removed from best traffic management outcomes for our community!

Listening does not mean National Govt. is hearing the people.Don't be fooled by the polls!! Too many soft effeminate mealy mouthed voices for my liking.

I hear the same things as Polkadot Princess. Simon Bridges does an extraordinary amout of work for Tauranga constituents. By the way Rob - you'll be waiting a damned long time before finding a poli of Simon Bridges calibre. I don't think Act or Labour have found a candidate yet. It seems they at least realise the current MP is too hard & too good to topple. I'm guessing the anti-Bridges contributors are left leaning and fail to recognise a bloody good MP for Tauranga regardless of his Party affiliations. Based upon his work efforts alone I'll back Simon as the best candidate for the city of Tauranga

Action not words.

@Polkadotprincess.....we have have just as much right to express opinions as you do.... Simon promised that the underpass would go ahead and I personally have been waiting to see if I have to find somewhere else to live since last year...He might say he listens....but results are what we want...Kronic is a nation wide issue, so is the play centre issue....The govt is going to spend the Welcome Bay underpass money on a new Police Station....I must admit its pretty grotty, but as far as I am aware, that was not one of the election promises he made to the people of Tauranga, but the Welcome Bay traffic problems WERE....

Crap

Simon Bridges is nothing but another mouthpiece for the leadership of the National government. Wow - the government has given Tauranga a new Police station!! Awe inspring stuff considering that the current one has passed its use-by date.Enough to make one want to vote National again - NOT. Early Childhood spending - conveniently overlooks the "rob Peter to pay Paul" actions which look good on paper unless you dig a little deeper to find the truth. Simon lives on the same "film-star" smile of his leader while the people hurt!

More listening - less action please

Kissing babies, petting soft furry animals - photo opportunities - all enacted with somebodys hand up the back of his jacket and moving his mouth to form the words of the National Party spin doctors. A lovely bloke no doubt, but its all on the surface - theres nothing of substance about this person whatsoever. Just another unprincipalled career bureaucrat. The nats are listening sure - but there is a roadblock between the LISTENING and the DOING. Which is not a bad thing as far as I'm concerned, because the less they DO the better. More listening please.
