After months of disputes the Rangitaiki community in the Eastern Bay of Plenty is working alongside the Whakatane District Council.
Members of the community are being invited to a meeting to discuss the ward future.
Mayor Tony Bonne.
Mayor Tony Bonne will be in attendance to hear from the community and to present the outcomes of the points raised in the March workshops.
'Since the new council has been elected, it has been communicating with the Rangitaki ward ratepayers on a regular basis,” says Tony.
'We have held a number of meetings in regard to creating a vision for the ward.”
Rangitaiki resident Bill Hutchinson initiated a petition last year to shift the ward's boundary from the Whakatane District to Kawerau.
Bill felt the ward representatives of the old council had done a poor job in representing people in the ward.
Now in a bid to be more transparent, the Rangitaiki Community Board is inviting people to the final Community Vision workshop.
The aim of the workshop is to discuss a vision for the future of the Rangtaiki Ward.
The workshop will be held at the Edgecumbe War Memorial Hall August 18, 6.30pm.
