Tauranga City Council is reporting there are planned road closures for the Cameron Road, 11th Avenue, St John Street and Christopher Street works site.
Weather permitting, the closures are planned for November 20, although the entire intersection will not close.
Cameron Road and 11th Avenue.
The council is assuring access to businesses in the area will be maintained at all times.
Delays are expected for motorists travelling through the intersection and they are asked to use an alternative route if possible.

Pay rates and other invoices online
There's now a handy new way to pay your invoices online.
Just get your credit card and invoice ready, go to the council's website home page and choose Apply/Order/Pay. Select what you want to do and follow the instructions.
As well as rates and water rates, you can now pay other invoices online like:
- Bonds
- Building consents
- Resource consents
- Cemetery fees
- Liquor licences
- Premises registration
- Key accounts and other sundry types of billing*
*Note this does not yet include online payment by credit card for animal, noise or RMA infringements, library fines or dog registration.
These types of payments will be available online at a later date.
City Waters
Water Supply
- Steel beams for the access bridge at the Oropi intake have arrived on site and a new bridge super structure is being installed this week. City Parks have liaised with the Mountain Bike Club regarding works programme on the bridge. Decking is presently under construction on site and is envisaged to be lowered into place on Monday, November 14.
- Valve maintenance is underway in the CBD and is soon to begin in Greerton and the Avenues. This involves repainting valve covers and ensuring the valves are in working order.
- Tender has been awarded to Ike Stephens for the water main upgrade on Cameron Road (between Spring and Hamilton). Works have commenced.
Parks and Leisure
- Hamilton Street to West Street walkway resurfacing and contouring work underway this week.
- Matua Saltmarsh Vegetation Enhancement work continues.
- Waikareao Estuary Willow control progressing well.
- The large Norfolk Pine street tree outside 366 Maunganui Road is scheduled to be removed on Monday, November 14 due to it being in conflict with stormwater and telecom underground services.
Transportation
- 40km/h Variable Speed Zones: 40km/h variable speed zones have been installed outside Papamoa Primary School (Parton and Dickson Roads) and Bethlehem College on Moffat Road. Please watch for the flashing 40km/h signs before and after school and adjust your speed accordingly.
- Annual Resealing Programme: Asphalt resealing work continues on various streets around the city.
- Bell Road: To allow Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) construction traffic to cross Bell Road, a 50km/h speed restriction is in place, Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 6.30pm, until further notice. All TEL construction traffic will be on a controlled give way. Please take care when driving in the area.
- Maunganui Road: Weather permitting, on 14 and 15 November, resurfacing work will be done on Maunganui Road. The work will be done at night to minimise disruption. Traffic will be diverted to Links Avenue while the work is being carried out. Access for local residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Please expect delays and use another route if possible.
- Parton Road: Construction activity for the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) continues. A temporary 30km/h speed restriction is in place Monday to Saturday from 6am to 6pm. A manual stop/go control will be used when large trucks need to cross Parton Road. Expect minor delays and please take care when driving in the area.
- Poike Road: Weather permitting, Poike Road between the State Highway 29 roundabout and Hollister Lane will be resurfaced on 14 and 15 November.
- School Zones: New active school zone signs are being installed outside the following schools: Otepou School, Welcome Bay Road; Rudolph Steiner School, Welcome Bay Road; and the Seventh Day Adventist School, Moffat Road. Please watch for the new signs and take care when driving through these areas.
- State Highway 2 (Te Maunga to Domain Road): Construction activity for the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) continues. A long term temporary 80km/h speed restriction is in place from Te Maunga to Domain Road until further notice. Please take care and stay alert when driving through this area.
- Tara Road (Domain Road end): To allow Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) construction traffic to cross Tara Road, a temporary 30km/h speed restriction, with a manual stop/go, will be in place for approximately eight weeks between 7am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Minor delays are expected. Please take care when driving in the area.
- Ultrafast Broadband: Work to install Ultrafast Broadband in the city centre and in the areas around the city centre continues. Most of the work is being done off the road. The ultrafast broadband project is a central government initiative.

- Shine - Saturday, 19 November at 10:30am, 2.30pm & 7pm: Over 500 Hip Hop, Ballet and Contemporary dancers from Tauranga, Papamoa and Mount Maunganui will entertain in the 90 minute spectacular.
- One Maestro, Two Keyboards - Sunday, 20 November at 1.30pm: Jelani Eddington one of the most prominent and sought after artists on the US concert circuit will play the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ and the Grand Steinway Piano.

Growth Funding Review: Report #12 (Funding of the Kaituna Stormwater Overflow)
- To seek the formation of a sub group involving Elected Members, staff and land owner / developer representatives from the Wairakei and Te Tumu urban growth areas to consider the cost allocation for the Kaituna Stormwater Overflow Project. This sub group would bring a recommendation back to Council for decision-making. This same approach has worked successfully in the past for the Southern Pipeline Project.
