Armageddon will be descending on Tauranga next month.
New Zealand's Largest Entertainment event is back for three massive consecutive weekends in Christchurch (July 18-19), Tauranga (July 25-26) and Wellington (August 1-2).
Armageddon returns with its signature blend of pop culture magic that enchants fans of television and movies, comics, gaming, VR, cosplay, anime and more, says the organiser
This year marks Armageddon Expos 25th Anniversary year and will feature a massive line-up of International actors that will be appearing virtually at the expos.
Joining all three conventions for Q & A discussion panels on each events main stage are; John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Arrow, Torchwood), Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time, Lost, 24, Windfall), Rachel Harris (Lucifer, Suits, The Hangover, Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Death Stranding, BioShock Infinite, Batman: Arkham Origins), Sean Maguire (Once Upon a Time, The Magicians, The 100), Rebecca Mader (Once Upon A Time, Lost, The Devil Wears Prada), Christopher Sabat (Dragon Ball Z, My Hero Academia, One Piece).
Appearing at Tauranga Armageddon Expo virtually is will be Mena Massoud (Star of Aladdin, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Run This Town), Danielle Panabaker (The Flash, Justified, Sky High, Friday The 13th).
'The virtual guest will not physically be present at the event but will be beaming in from overseas and onto the event main stage screens to directly interact with attendees,” says the organisers.
'Each virtual guest will only be appearing for one, one-hour panel at each event, making each day unique, but also making each panel a must-see.
'With being the first major public events in New Zealand post-Lockdown, we are taking extra precautions to reassure our attendees' through a Predator-esk Thermal Temperature Screening camera to have at the entrance of each event to stop anyone who has a high fever from entering the expo.
'We are also investing in hand sanitiser dispensers spread out through each venue and contact tracing to assure everyone who attends will be traceable.
'We are expecting strong pre-sales so we recommend people to get tickets early to avoid disappointment.”
Those attending can browse a range of geeky merchandise from handcrafted NZ art to popular NZ and global companies.
Event attendees will also be able to enjoy a huge range of in-show events including; the famous Armageddon Cosplay Contest and Parade, anime screenings from Crunchyroll, trading card tournaments hosted by Card Merchant, Virtual Reality experiences and E-Sport gaming from PingZero, as well as laser tag from Megazone.
"We're thrilled to be the first public expo post Covid-19 lockdown, and we can't wait to bring the largest pop-culture events to Christchurch, Tauranga, and Wellington", says William Geradts, Armageddon Expo organiser.
