There are nine new cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand today – four are in managed isolation and five are in the community.

The five community cases are all epidemiologically linked to the Auckland cluster.

Deputy Director-General of Health Robyn Shearer says three cases are linked to Mt Roskill evangelical church and the two others are household contacts of previous cases.

The four imported cases have travelled from India.

There are currently 11 people in hospital with COVID-19 – two of those are in intensive care.

There are 15 previously reported cases that are considered to have recovered.

Currently, there are 131 active COVID-19 cases in New Zealand. Robyn says 24 of those cases are imported, and 107 are in the community.

There were 7219 tests processed yesterday, which brings the total to 758, 027.

Robyn says as of this morning, the Ministry of Health have identified 28 close contacts of the Tokoroa health professional currently in hospital.

On Sunday, there were two new cases of COVID-19 that were reported.
