Police have released the name of the man killed in a crash on SH2, Taneatua last Monday.

"He was Bronson Te Kuru, 44, of Poroporo," says a Police spokesperson.

'Our thoughts are with his whanau and friends."

The crash occurred on White Pine Bush Rd - SH2 - near Taneatua.

Police reported that one person died after a car crashed off Pekatahi Bridge on State Highway 2 around 5.30pm on Monday March 15.

The Serious Crash Unit attended and undertook an examination at the scene. The bridge and road was closed for hours following the crash.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
