Police can now release the name of the woman who died following a crash at the intersection of State Highways 30 and 32 near Whakamaru on Friday.

She was Kellie Jane Greer, 49, of Tauranga.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.

Two vehicles were said to have been involved in the crash which occurred around 12pm on April 2.

Police said that one of the vehicles involved in the collision had caught fire.

SH30 was closed at the site of the incident, between Forest View Rd and the Whakamaru Dam, and motorists were asked to take alternative routes. The Serious Crash unit was also advised.

Police extend their sympathies to her family and friends.
