There have been a number of traffic collisions this afternoon, at Omokoroa, Papamoa, and the lower Kaimai range.
There was also a motorcycle collision near Ngatira late this morning where two people were seriously injured.
Police were notified of a two-vehicle collision on Hamurana Rd in Omokoroa at 3.38pm.
Police are still in attendance at the Omokoroa crash, and there are reported to be some minor injuries.
Police were notified of a single-vehicle-collision on Percy Rd in Papamoa at 2.33pm. Four people have been taken to Tauranga Hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this stage.
Earlier there was a minor two-vehicle crash on SH29 about 1.30pm. Police report that ambulance services were not required.
Late this morning two people were seriously injured following a motorcycle crash on State Highway 5. Police responded to the motorcycle crash on SH5 at Ngatira about 11am.
"Two people sustained serious injuries and have been airlifted from the scene,” says a Police spokesperson.
It is understood that there were two people on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
