Police are making enquiries after a stolen vehicle was found crashed in Papamoa.

Police say they were alerted around 5.25am after someone came across a vehicle that appeared to have crashed into a parked car.

The collision occurred in Katerini Grove.

"The driver had left the vehicle," says a Police spokesperson.

"It appears the vehicle may have been stolen. Police are making further inquiries where able."
