Night closures on Tauranga Eastern Link

The Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road will be closed between 7pm and 6am on the nights of Sunday 27 and Monday, June 28, to undertake maintenance on the tolling gantry structure.

Night closures will take place on the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road for maintenance starting on Sunday.

Work will take place between 7pm and 6am on Sunday 27 and Monday, June 28, to undertake maintenance on the tolling gantry structure, says a spokesperson from Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

The work will result in closures between the SH2 Domain Road interchange and SH33/SH2 Paengaroa roundabout.

Eastbound lanes will be closed from Domain Road interchange towards Whakatane/Rotorua from 7pm Sunday June 27 until 6am Monday June 28. A signposted detour via the Te Puke Highway will be in place.

Westbound lanes will be open towards Tauranga. At the toll gantry structure, a short lane closure and temporary speed limit will be in place, before returning to two open lanes.

From 7pm Monday, June 28 until 6am Tuesday, June 29 westbound lanes will be closed from the SH33/SH2 Paengaroa roundabout towards Tauranga. A signposted detour via the Te Puke Highway will be in place.

Eastbound lanes will be open towards Whakatāne/Rotorua. At the toll gantry structure, a short lane closure and temporary speed limit will be in place, before returning to two open lanes.

The TEL Toll Road will be open and operating as normal on the morning of Tuesday, June 29 at 6am.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their travel, says an NZTA spokesperson.
