UPDATE: The Ministry of Health is reporting a second death of person with Covid-19 in the community.
In a media stand-up today, Director of Public Health Dr Caroline McElnay says the person has recently been treated in hospital and was self-isolating in the community.
"St John received an emergency call to an address in Mt Eden and found the man dead upon arrival."
The man's death is being referred to the coroner and the Ministry of Health is also investigating.
Earlier this week, a person with Covid-19 self isolating in Auckland had been found dead.
The cause of death is unknown and may have been Covid-19 or some other cause, says a statement from the Ministry of Health.
A total of 163 community cases are being reported in the community today - 159 in Auckland and four in Waikato.
Today's new cases brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in this community outbreak to 4034, of which, 1723 have recovered.
There are also four new cases in managed isolation.
Today, 69 people are in hospital with Covid-19, with six people in ICU of HDU.

Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson and Director of Public Health Dr Caroline McElnay will provide an update on the Covid-19 response at 1pm today.
There were 139 cases of Covid-19 in the community yesterday.
Wastewater findings in the Taranaki town of Stratford have come back positive for Covid-19 and that topic is likely to be addressed.
Vaccination figures will also be on the agenda, with New Zealand nearly three weeks removed from Super Saturday and hoping to see a rise in second doses as a response.
