9.10am update: A crashed crane truck has now been removed from Tauranga Harbour Bridge and one westbound lane has been reopened.
One lane remains closed while spilled hydraulic fluid and diesel are cleaned up.
Significant traffic delays are still being experienced.
8.45am update: The left westbound lane on Tauranga Harbour Bridge is now closed following the crash of a crane truck into the railing.
Motorists are advised to delay their travel or take another route if travelling from Mount Maunganui to Tauranga.
There is now significant congestion on Hewletts Rd West Bound. Traffic is also backing up past Totara St from Tauranga Harbour Bridge.
The crane truck has been taken away, but there is debris, deisel and oil to be cleaned up. The railing on the bridge is also damaged.
The driver of the truck is uninjured.

8.32am update: The Mount Maunganui to Tauranga traffic lane is due to be closed shortly following a crash on Tauranga Harbour Bridge.
Motorists travelling between Mount Maunganui and Tauranga are advised to avoid Tauranga Harbour Bridge, or delay their travel.
A crane truck crashed into a rail on the bridge is causing significant traffic delays.
The left westbound lane is currently blocked over the bridge.
The Mount to Tauranga lane will be closed while the truck is pulled free and towed away.

Earlier 7.40am:
A truck carrying a crane has crashed at the top of Tauranga Harbour Bridge and is likely to cause significant traffic delays.
Police are responding to a vehicle collision on Te Awanui Drive on the Tauranga Harbour Drive.
The truck has crashed through the railing on the Mount Maunganui to Tauranga lane of the bridge.
The driver is uninjured.
Police advise motorists to avoid the area if possible.

Nothing has been said how this happened and what caused it,why is this i wonder,anyway my thoughts only Thanks No1 for news 10-4 im out,phew.
