‘No taxation without representation’

When thinking upon my local electorate I am reminded of a very famous saying: 'No taxation without representation”. This appointed administration from central government is a fundamental violation of this principle. It is unacceptable that they would seek to extend their writ beyond the appointed time for any reason, they are occupying roles and spending funds for which they have received no mandate from ratepayers. It is time for an election with no exceptions; if they are so sure of themselves then they can of course stand and let the Tauranga electorate choose.

They must not be allowed to simply usurp a local government because it is their opinion that they should do so.
