I have lived in Tauranga now for nine years and love this city. I think it's about time we were given our right to choose our own council back.

The council election, held this year countrywide should include Tauranga's right to elect our own council.

We have had this commission running our city for three years now and I do not agree with a lot of what they have done while governing.

They do not live in our city and I feel they have little concept of what we need here.

I do not believe there are many residents in Tauranga that want the Commissioners to remain and I would like to see the numbers they say do want Commissioners.

All people I have spoken to about this have clearly said they want our right back to elect our own council and it's time for the Commissioners to go.

We all feel like we have no say and Tauranga is being run by central government and not our own elected councillors that predominantly live here and know the city.

I think it's time we in Tauranga were able to elect our own council again and democracy was returned to the city.
