Re: ‘New Options for Tauranga Residents' on page 10, The Weekend Sun, February 11.
Great. I get to ditch the Tauranga City Council bins and the huge cost – yeah right!
What planet has TCC's manager of sustainability and waste come from? Community embracing new bins? You mean like prisoners embrace working while incarcerated?
We were forced to pay for the big size bin – another slap in the face for ratepayers. Speaking from experience I can barely cover the bottom of a bin by collection day. But I feel I have to put them out for collection because I have already paid a hefty price for the experience. On the plus side, I now have the pleasure of not giving a toss if a product is ‘eco-friendly' wrapped or not because I need not worry how much space it's going to use in my little bin that was.
More news from TCC: ‘Get ready for change'. This is in regard to splitting of invoicing of fees by Bay of Plenty Regional Council and TCC.
I suspect this is another money-making venture in disguise. Two invoices to split increased or additional fees. Won't be noticed too much!
The more I read ‘transparent and accountable' the less trust I have. Reminds me of the ‘survey' TCC used to justify their already made decision regards ‘new bin' service. It was merely giving you a chance to agree with their bin decision.
Yeah right.
