Re: sea level rise news. On TV3's ‘AM Show' last October 19, 2021, Climate Change Minister James Shaw stated that the sea had risen, leading to problems for the Pacific Island nations.
An estimate of sea level rise due to ‘climate change' was recently published, with damage and cost to infrastructure.
The ongoing 30-plus year study by Flinders University shows no measureable change to sea level or temperature to date. ‘Global warming' and attendant problems was first mentioned at the United Nations in 1988. More than 30 years later, we are still to see any of the predictions occur.
The ‘Science of Climate Change' August 2010 by the Australian Academy of Science states 'the period for estimating climate is usually 30 years or more”. Well documented history of England shows the grape and wine industry, established in Roman times, was abandoned when the weather cooled and the vines were frozen and died.
Four-hundred years ago the Thames froze, and festivities were held on the ice attended by royalty. Napoleon lost more than half his army to the freezing conditions on the retreat from Russia. One-hundred years ago, during the Spanish flu epidemic climatologists were warning of an approaching ice age – and are now claiming global warming. With the ice build-ups, and melts, the marine charts show no change in sea level.
After more than 30 years of global warming/climate change no climate excesses have been recorded. All extremes are reported as since. Glasgow Summit was held in the coldest weather since 2007.
Will James Shaw stop repeating the untruths and apologise? Will he sack his advisers? Will he acknowledge he is wrong? On his salary and expenses – not likely!

Here's the thing. You letter actually sounds convincing. But it's not true. Just for starters, this is from the Flinders University website (where there is a mass of information about the effects and dangers of climate change): "Evidence of the impact of rising sea level has been found in beach and sand dune movement along the Dutch coastline – indicating that the effect will impact all coastal areas. Flinders University’s Professor Patrick Hesp and fellow coastal scientists Christa van IJzendoorn, Sierd de Vries and Caroline Hallin from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands have measured the vertical translation of the dune toe along the Holland coast, and found it has increased a remarkable 7-to-8 times greater than the measured sea level rise."
Here's another thing...........

....have you thought about this...at all?.....the 'just for starters' example is also the only one isn't it?..look, we can all read supposed 'experts' write stuff projected to achieve a certain outcome...you believe and that's fine. I do not. The outrageous claims by climate change 'experts' has a habit of getting more extreme at every comment and for me reckon that opinion from a lowly ranked Australian uni in regard to the Dutch coastline is indeed a little well....'broad' to say the least.

So the letter uses a study from Flinders University as evidence. I point out that their website actually says something different. And your response, groutby is "the ’just for starters’ example is also the only one isn’t it?." Well, actually, no it's not. There are many examples there. You didn't, of course, check in any way. But I realise it wouldn't make any difference to you. You are not interested in facts, simply in repeating your own misguided opinions. you spurn "expert" opinion as you would rather ignore"experts" and remain ignorant. Shame.
