A new deepening area of low pressure and a growing high will work together to dredge up a cold and very windy south to south west change in NZ this Friday and Saturday.
"Thursday will be warmer than average before it arrives - then Friday becomes colder than average, at least in the South Island," says WeatherWatch.co.nz
"Winds will peak later on Friday and into Saturday for many parts of New Zealand.
"We cover the forecast out to Monday around NZ, Australia and the South Pacific Islands."
