I read with a chuckle here and there at all the advice and tips being dished by out by different media – newspapers on the online – on how to make it through the cost of living crisis we Kiwis are currently facing right now in New Zealand.

I'll let you in on a little secret. There is only way to get through the cost of living crisis this year. That is get a job in a government department somewhere, as it doesn't matter the quality or quantity of work you do, you will still get paid a decent packet for whatever you do or do not achieve.

If this doesn't work I'd start edging towards running to be elected as an MP at next year's General Election. Again, in this job it doesn't matter the quality or quantity of work you do, you will still get paid a decent packet for whatever you do or do not achieve. Am I right?
