I note with dismay the plans for the ruination of Omokoroa.

It is stated that the Western Bay of Plenty District Council plans for the area between State Highway 2 and the railway line includes 2300 more homes – so about 4000 more cars? – and more zones for industry and business, a new large reserve for active sports, a primary school, a secondary school and a natural open space.

How is all the extra traffic generated from these proposals expected to get in and out of Omokoroa via the inadequate existing entry from State Highway 2?
