More than just Links Ave

The Council is conducting a trial closure of Links Ave as it perceives there is a safety risk arising from through traffic.

There are other streets in the city where schools are situated that have higher traffic volumes for both school traffic and through traffic. These include Maunganui Road, Cameron Road, Fraser Street, Windsor Road and SH29.

Common sense and Council logic should see these roads subject to trial closures. I look forward to these roads being closed for the safety of the school children.

Close all the roads! save the children, the climate, close everything! buy your electric trike here and ride it on the footpath with the old folks and children, people who write these comments are from another planet, 1 with public transport that floats through the air, powered by kindness, truth and transparency, lol.

Don’t you recognise irony when you see it. A. Griffin is right, council have decided to use Links Avenue to show that they can do almost anything now as long as they point out that it is in the sake of safety, no matter the inconvenience to ratepayers. The Commissioners, untouchable as they are, will continue supporting the council staff in all the pointless projects that have been dreamed up. Cameron Road, Maunganui Road, the CBD, none of these will solve congestion in Tauranga. They won’t put bums in seats on buses either. They will, however, continue to blow “the budget “ as usual.
