Our cars and climate change…

All of us in the Western world are trying to resolve the ‘enigma' of climate change.

The elephant in the room is that a major cause of climate change is owned by the majority of adults in the Western world: the humble car.

We can all get indignant and say my ‘cute' little car causes very little pollution. Agreed. A car on its own makes very little pollution, but times that by billions it certainly does.

It's like the story from the Bible about Aesop and his camel. A single straw is of insignificant weight, but times that weight by a billion it will break the camel's back.

All of us must try to lessen the use of fossil fuelled transport or Mother Earth is going to shut up shop.

"story from the Bible about Aesop and his camel". I have a feeling you're mixing a few things up. Aesop wrote fables, including several involving camels, but the origin of the expression "the straw that broke the camels back" is actually an old Arab proverb. I don't think either are in the Bible. Are you perhaps thinking of the camel passing through the eye of a needle more easily than a rich man entering the kingdom of heaven??
