Starlink G4-31 has been captured on camera as the train of satellites streamed across the night sky.
Launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA, Starlink G4-31 has a payload mass of 16,300 kg (36,000 lb) (53 x 307kg, plus dispenser), according to everydayastronaut.com
This is the 64th operational Starlink mission, boosting the total number of Starlink satellites launched to 3558, of which 3277 will still be in orbit around the Earth once launched.
Starlink is SpaceX's internet communication satellite constellation.
The low-Earth orbit constellation delivers fast, low-latency internet service to locations where ground-based internet is unreliable, unavailable, or expensive.
In a post on the Tauranga Astronomical Society Facebook page, the Starlink was visible from 8.52pm as it passed high across the lower North Island from North West to South East.
'There may be another good opportunity especially for observers in the South Island on Thursday night (weather permitting) from 9.02pm,” reads the post.
'We will post another update."
