'Looking for a new home…has its original haircut, it's a little shy at times but otherwise a very easy pet”.

This is the description of a current TradeMe Auction in New Zealand.

The auction, titles My Shy Carrot, goes on to say that it 'doesn't eat anything, doesn't drink water, can be left at home whilst away on holiday, really likes a cold environment to have a longer life expectancy”.

'Relisted pet so rigidity is slipping! Gotta admit it's pretty cute.”

The seller, who is located in Northland, says the proceeds of the auction will be donated to the Cancer Society.

A number of people seem to be very interested in the pet carrot.

The auction currently has 25 questions and answers.

One person enquired whether it would be ok with other pets. The seller's response: 'Hi yes carrots generally get on with most other pets… other than rabbits and sometimes Guinea pigs.”

'Is it free-range,” asks another person. 'Absolutely…and organic,” responds the seller.

So far, the auction has raised $106. It is due to close on Monday, January 16, at 7.30pm.
