Tauranga residents are reporting Internet outages across the city today.
According to a post by Vodafone CEO Jason Paris on Twitter, the outage in Tauranga and Rotorua is related to the fibre link.
Paris says some services should have started at 8.30am today.
However to the Vodafone network outages page, there are still several outages across the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel.

For Spark customers, there are currently no new issues in Tauranga according to their outages page.
Paris says there are unfortunately "close to 300 sites down" across the country, which are mainly located in Northland, Coromandel, Napier and Gisborne.
Unfortunately close to 300 sites down, mainly in Northland, Coromandel, Napier & Gisborne, impacting both mobile & broadband. @vodafoneNZ generators deployed & arranging a cargo plane to deliver more generators, satellite equipment. Access tough so not a quick fix. Stay safe.

He also says Vodafone customers who are experiencing a broadband outage can reach out to receive "seven days of data on your phone plan to ensure you are always connected" so customers can hotspot data to their computer.
Just a reminder to all @vodafoneNZ mobile customers. If you have lost your broadband connection due to the cyclone, just let us know & we'll put 7 days of data on your phone plan to ensure that you are always connected & can hotspot (connect your PC to the internet) Cheers JP
