I have just got the Tauranga City pamphlet on Cameron Road Stage 2. What a load of bulls***. Not one mention of cars, truck and trailers or even vehicle transport other than busses that cannot ride around roundabouts without riding into the middle of them.
Not one mention of how traffic can flow along a road, any road, let alone main arterial accessways.
The council – I'm guessing – it says will get in touch with our feedback, we will listen. Yeah, right.
No parking (even outside medical clinic), schools or businesses – who go out of business because no parking means no clients doing business. Let alone the damage already done to Cameron Rd, with the existing crap of Greerton roundabouts that are not roundabouts, narrow main roads that block up at all times with no sense to them than chaos.
This pamphlet is an absolute disaster waiting to happen. There is nothing in it. It is a load of fluff.
No rates may, eventually, get rid of them, but who knows what you need to be a councillor in Tauranga.
Dumb is one word.

***TCC replies: The Cameron Road Stage 2 flyer has been sent to homes and businesses across Te Papa to make sure our community are aware of this future project. We are asking the community to give us their feedback on possible changes which will offer more transport choices and improve safety for all of the people who move around and along Cameron Rd, between 17th Ave and Cheyne Rd. In all of the options for discussion, access for private vehicles is maintained with at least one lane for traffic in each direction along this entire section of road. Providing for more reliable bus services does not necessarily mean car parking needs to be removed. Where there is a clear need for car parking, this will be considered as we progress into the detailed design of the project.
At this stage, we are seeking feedback on the three different options to explore further, which have been identified following earlier conversations with the community and technical assessments.
We are encouraging everyone in the community to have their say on the future of Cameron Rd.

Total waste of money

Once again the TCC is project focused and not out come focused. The independant review of the Greeton project traffic failure censored the TCC but they are at it again. One very interesting missing imformation on this project is how many bus stops, bus shelters and light controlled crossings will be installed from 15th avenue to Cheyne Road. For your imformation there will be 8 light controlled crossings from 9th avenue to 15th avenue. 8 potential vehicle stops. 8 potential bus stops. I,m getting the picture that the traffic flow along this important arterial route will be stiffled. It's time the Tauranga citizens that drive cars, vans work vehicles etc got of their bums and stop this nonsense before it,s too late!!!
There's something else going on....

.....and I do rather hope I'm wrong, but while I was waiting (as I often am) at a traffic near standstill along Cameron Road at the city end today, just how many empty buildings/for lease perhaps sale that were presumably local business which have decided or forced to 'move on'....for one reason or another. Perhaps it is a result of 'things going to happen' eventually anyway, but if it is a 'thing' rather than coincidence....whats the plan for that end of Cameron Road?...doesn't look like progress at the moment....I have few doubts the plan is in place already....
stop the frivilous waste of money

Drove the entire length of this project and realised this is a complete waste of money. The gain is zero for what? No improvement thru Greerton , the last TCC effort. Even worse the money really needs to be spent on recovering infrastructure in the Bay of Poverty and Hawkes Bay. Coromandel and what next monsoon season will bring.
