Plane enthusiasts will be avidly waiting to view one of the RNZAF planes in Tauranga today.

Following the Anzac Day commemorations the 42 Squadron are deploying one of their Beech King Air 350s to Tauranga for the week.

Classic Flyers is inviting the public to come and view the aircraft and meet the training crew.

The King Air 350 - KA350 - is a light, twin engine, fixed wing, nine passenger, commuter aircraft.

Our Air Force has four KA350s in its fleet, introduced as part of the Air Crew Training Capability project - ACTC.

The KA350 has been modified for the NZDF to allow the transport of nine passengers, Air Warfare training and sensor suite training.

There are also plenty of other planes to see at Classic Flyers.

On Anzac Day the flypast included Boeing Stearmans, North American Harvards, and Yak 52s in a sunning display.

The planes did a flypast over the Tauranga service at approximately 9.45am and then flew on to the Mount Maunganui service at about 9.50am.
