To assist with traffic flow this week, a free bus service between Mount Maunganui and Papamoa is running until Friday September 8.
The Zespri AIMS Games, which kicked off on Friday across Tauranga, will bring approximately 24,000 visitors to the city.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel as there may be some delays across the city transport network.
To help support traffic flow and get supporters to and from the games, a free park and ride service is being provided by Tauranga City Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
The service is free for everyone - AIMS athletes, supporters and the community.
Buses will travel from Mount Hot Pools to Gordon Spratt Reserve and return, stopping at Blake Park, Baywave and Mercury Baypark.

Oh that a park and ride system throughout the city outer areas to travel into the city . Seems to work for many in Auckland . Racecourse into city ? Bay Park into city ? Bethlehem?Te Puna ? Etc

A FREE service for out-of-towners. Every school will still have at least one or two school vans at every event, because it's a requirement for health and safety issues and parents will have travelled in their own vehicles. So who is going to use the service that will go around the circuit rather than from A to B, as the players and supporters will want to...? This is just another tick off item rather than a genuine attempt at reducing congestion.
