It’s a big American style talent show – full of Pāpāmoa’s top primary school performers from around the suburb.

Labelled ‘Pāpāmoa’s Got Talent’, the variety show aims to show off the best acts from Pāpāmoa’s primary schools, all in the name of supporting young performers.

Members of the public are invited to come along – all for just a donation at the front door which will go towards funding prizes for those on stage.

According to event organiser, Liz Proudlock, there will be singing, tap dancing, jazz dancing, circus and gym routines, and so much more at the upcoming show, scheduled for 6.30pm on Thursday, October 12 at Tahatai Coast School Hall.

Primary schools from across Pāpāmoa have been running heats to find their top four performers who are gearing up to hit the stage, and Liz says there are “major prizes” and a shield to be won at the event.

“It is going to be run along the lines of America’s Got Talent. There are four judges who will decide on the top act and winners of categories.”

Prizes come from the event’s sponsors who are The Rock shop, Fresh Choice, Burnett Piper Insurance Brokers, Polaair, Upton Drumming School, Catherine Roberts Piano Teacher, and Coastline Productions Ltd.

“We would love the public to come along and enjoy a great variety show of talent from year 4-6s throughout Pāpāmoa. A donation at the door gets you in to see the show.”

Donations, according to Liz, will go towards funding the medals and prizes for the students involved.
