Whether its a first gig as a signer, presenting artwork, or simply enjoying a movie, Tauranga's Historic Village is packed with activities for families these school holidays.
“There are so many events going on during this season here at the village, some of them are developed by us as part of our school holydays programme, and others are part of the Spring Fest from the Tauranga City Council," says support and project development director Marama Mateparae.
"It is good to remind the people of Tauranga that here at the village we have a space for all our family members, from the very little ones to all our grandparents."
“Sometimes we simply pass some of the most important knowledge from our grandies to the future generations, which is why during the school holidays we organise workshops like sewing or carpentry, because is a lifetime of experience that we don’t want to lose, which perhaps is another way to strengthen some family bonds, and we are so happy with that," says Marama.

Some other great events happens at the Jam Factory, where lots of new artist can have the first experience in public, The Village provides to all this new generation of musicians, and singers a place where they can perform for family and friends and also to participate during different festivals The Incubator organizes at the Village.
“The size of the venue offers a really special experience for all the singers and the public, giving a close and intimate performance. It is a nice and relaxing venue, and we have had lots of school bands here having a first taste of being on stage," says Nigel Gregory from the Jam Factory.
“It is not just for music, poets and other performers have a space here too.
"We are so excited because Hollie smith chose the Jam Factory as the venue for her next gig here in Tauranga," says Nigel.
