Waipuna Hospice has announced the relocation of its Mount store happening this weekend.
Over the years the charity shop has become the community favourite store for great secondhand deals, says Waipuna Hospice General Manager of Retail, Jace Dowman.
"Relocating to the former Organic Grocer building further down MacDonald Street will give it the capacity to grow and continue to provide the community with quality secondhand goods"
“Our Mount shop has been a staple in the community for almost a decade. We’re excited about all the new possibilities this new site will offer. Our team has been working very hard in the lead-up to our grand opening.”
Waipuna Hospice charity shops sell donated goods to fund the care of the terminally ill and bereaved in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty, says Jace. The six charity shops provide vital funds for Waipuna Hospice to continue providing free specialist palliative care to the community.
Waipuna Hospice CEO, Richard Thurlow, explains how important their charity stores are in ensuring they can continue caring for our community.
“Our charity shops have a hugely important role in helping us to raise funds that are essential for Waipuna Hospice’s end of life care services.“
Put simply, the service level is directly proportional to what the shops can raise, says Richard.
“This new shop location will allow Waipuna Hospice to continue to provide a service care level that our community expect and deserve.”
The Mount charity shop has been temporarily closed as staff and volunteers relocate stock and prepare for the grand opening happening this Saturday.
The grand opening of the Waipuna Hospice new store at 35 MacDonald Street, will take place this Saturday, November 11.
According to the event organisers, the first 100 customers will receive $10 off their purchase and a free coffee.
