Mount one-way streets touted

Tauranga City Council is considering a one-way road along The Mall in Pilot Bay.
The one-way road could also stretch from Adams Avenue and onto a section of Maunganui Road.
Council is considering the one-way plan in order to create about 160 new car parks in the area.

Under the proposal, the one-way road in Pilot Bay would allow angle parking on the harbour side of The Mall.
Three to four hour parking restrictions are also being considered around the northern section of Mount Maunganui.

CITY HALL DECEPTION

Intro: removed. The truth appears if one looks past the feeble attempt to hide it. Our elected councilors certainly have no idea what is going on as the plan has been put forward by City hall staff without being asked to, the question is why ? Well the redevelopment of the Mount Hot Pools $10m (more like $15m) is still very much on the agenda at City Hall being within the deep and dark orifice s of council, it is yet another shambles of a project like many to date that are going to turn a perfectly good facility that generates cash in into a HUGE and COSTLY and RATEPAYER FUNDED with more OVER PAID BEURATRACS and loss making forever so called BUSINESS VENTURE ... In reality the City Hall want to build it all as they want more pay because there are more of them, ignore all who complain including experts recommending anything better and we all pay for it for the rest of our life and our children s and theirs. The parking plan at a cost of over $1m for 160 new car parks is a joke that is $6,250 each. I quote from good old Mouldy himself as recorded in council chambers when talking to hard working Rick was as follows You have been blasted on all your resolutions to council, aren t you getting sick of getting your head kicked in all the time ? Mr Mouldy has not put up one single resolution in three years as yet on anything, his job is just to do what he is told by the Crosby because it is the Crosby and Town show sorry I mean conspiracy!

Council yesterday heard submissions on this proposal, many from local residents opposed to it. It will be considered by council next week.

Guilt

Posted on 21-04-2010 10:46 | By RawPrawn

By continually permitting high rise development in the northern Mount area, Council has now become hugely responsible for the increase in traffic flows and parking shortages. This whole exercise is simply a desperate attempt to cover up their appalling myopia.

ONE WAY HOME

I have been informed that there is also another reason for having a one way street at the Mount, this is important. For those of us that like to indulge and so have a wee drinkee as often as possible so therefore more being preferred find it somewhat easier to follow the road when driving if there are no awful bright lights coming towards us. They are just so bright that it makes it hard to follow that white line that has been put there for just that purpose. I am sure all councilors can understand this as there are none left in who can deny (except of course Mrs C. Stewart who is nice) that a few drinkees have been had then drive home afterwards, especially those who are able to display a grey complexion will have had many years to perfect the art of getting home. None are exempt, even the best will try, I remember a night not so long ago when Frisbee had to find a way home, I guess the only difference is some get caught and some do not, but is not the guilt the same. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones, for fear of hitting each other of course.

GAME IS UP

It looks like there are not to many left here on this site anymore, perhaps being challenged as to the truth has scared them away from play time, maybe it is just not fun anymore when the truth is placed before you and there is not way around it anymore. The Silence is deafining, it speaks for itself. No half baked, no Frisbee, all have left Frisky Corner and Goofed off to see the Lone Ranger and Poncho somewhere? Dont forget to turn off the light when you leave.
