There are just five days remaining to drop off new unwrapped toys for the Kindness Collective's Christmas collection in Tauranga, Rotorua and Waihi.

Mitre 10 has joined forces with Kindness Collective to bring joy and kindness to families facing challenges across New Zealand this Christmas.

People can drop off new unwrapped toys in the collection bins at Mitre 10 stores until December 10 and know that they’re helping bring joy and kindness to local tamariki this Christmas.

Toy collection crates are in place at Mitre 10 MEGA Tauranga, Rotorua and Waihi for customers and team members to donate new toys for kids in need.

Kindness Collective collaborates with community partners and social services to get the toys to kids in the local community.

They also operate Christmas Joy Stores, one in Auckland and, in response to Cyclone Gabrielle, one in Hawkes Bay this year, which are a social shopping initiative that aims to provide kindness and dignity of choice, where referred parents can select free gifts for their children.

The Tauranga store has been seeing a great response and we are excited to be a part of this. Kindness Collective, the 2023 winner of the Mitre 10 Community of the Year Ng`a Pou Whirinaki o te Ta u award in the New Zealander of the Year Awards, and Mitre 10 have partnered to support and strengthen Kiwi communities across the motu.

From building meaningful spaces, such as communal food gardens and outdoor play spaces, to helping bring Christmas joy to thousands of kids, we’re working with Team Kindness to connect with Kiwis in need and help them thrive.
