Emergency services are responding to a crash that has closed State Highway 25.

The crash is reported to be at the intersection of Te Puru Creek Road and SH25.

"Due to a crash at Te Puru Creek Rd, this section of SH25 is closed," says an NZTA Waka Kotahi spokesperson.

"Delay your journey or allow extra time for long detours.

"Please follow the direction of emergency services until detour routes are set."

It is unknown if there are any injuries.

The road will remain closed until further notice.
