A car is on fire in Bureta this evening.

SunLive readers have emailed in reporting the fire is on Ngatai Road, next to Tyre Master.

One reader has sent in a photo showing the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

It's been reported that the vehicle came in off Ngatai Road just after 7pm.

Another says the smoke can be seen from the other side of the Tauranga Harbour.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
