The first weekend of the 2024 GJ Gardner Homes NZ Beach Tour at Mount Maunganui has now come to a close following the men's and women's finals on Sunday.

In the women’s event, first seeds Alice Zeimann and Shaunna Polley took home first place and the gold without dropping a set in their four games.

Alice and Shaunna overcame Kalea Norton and Danielle Quigley (2-0, 21-14, 21-10) in the final.

Third place in the women's event went to Kiana Stevenson and Maria Hanabadi who defeated Meile Rose Green and Katie Sadlier (2-0, 21-13, 22-20) in the third and fourth matches.

In the men’s event, first seeds Brad Fuller and Alani Nicklin claimed they used their semifinal victory as a rhythm and confidence builder to support their performance in the final.

Brad and Alani came away victorious against second seeds John McManaway and Tom Reid (2-0, 21-18, 21-17).

Third place in the men’s event went to Tom Hartles and Ben O'Dea who overcame Martin Kaufer and Ty Landers (2-0, 22-20, 21-16) in the third and fourth matches.
