The summit area of Pāpāmoa Hills Cultural Heritage Regional Park is currently closed.

In a post on Facebook, the Bay of Plenty Regional Council says a section of the park is closed following a death at the park.

"The park is expected to re-open at 8pm this evening.

"Please refer to the below map for the closure zone.

"Other tracks and areas of the park remain open at this time."
