Building on her recent experience racing at the world water-ski racing champs in Terrigal Australia, local Tauranga waterski racer Ellison Hollands can be very proud of her efforts last weekend.
Representing New Zealand skiing at the Trans-Tasman waterski challenge held at Lake Charm Australia, Ellison won both her races with impressive margins against her competitors.
The racing was not without its challenges.
Ellison missed her start on day one but pulled back an extraordinary lead, coming from behind to beat her competitors and take out the win.

Day two saw an impressive start taking the lead early on and then not only taking the girls win but successfully passing the competing boys who had started in grid one.
Not for the faint-hearted, water-ski racing requires strength and agility along with a strong mindset, and a good boat team.
Ellison regularly trains in the Tauranga harbour and has her sights set on becoming a world champion.
