Very strong and cold southwesterlies later in the week made playing unpleasant at times, and scoring difficult, says Waihi Golf Club member Rodger Bagshaw in his weekly report.

"Winds were so strong on Wednesday afternoon with branches being blown off trees, that the course had to be closed," says Rodger.

"Winter has arrived and shown her teeth!"

Rodger's report covers the week that was, Monday, May 27 to Saturday, June 1.
