Sanctuary Point connection nears completion

Construction of a shared path to connect the Sanctuary Point subdivision to Windermere Drive is close to completion.

Tauranga City Council says this path will be ready for use by the end of this week after the construction of a pram crossing at the Windermere end of the reserve, some landscaping and a final tidy up.

The estimated completion date is weather dependent.
 
Two solar lights have been installed, but It will be four to six weeks until the light and camera by the playground will be operational.  
 
The playground in the Windermere Reserve will be closed during construction for safety reasons.

"We will make sure there is a safe way to move through the reserve at all times during construction," says a council spokesperson.

Council says some noise might be noticed during the day.

"We will do our best to keep noise to a minimum. We apologise for any inconvenience while this work is completed and thank you for your patience."
