Police have arrested a man in relation to the death of Tauranga man Brendon Bourne.

Brendon died following a two-vehicle crash on State Higway 2, near Katikati in February.

Police were called to the crash, at Tanners Point, at 4.50pm.

In a statement released today, police say they have arrested a man and charged him in relation to the fatal crash.

"Brendon Bourne, a 55-year-old from Pyes Pa, was located deceased at the scene," police say in relation to the fatal crash.

"The arrested man is due to appear in Tauranga District Court today, charged with an exceeded high-risk level of a listed qualifying drug in blood."
