Police advise that a slip is obstructing State Highway 2 in the Waimana Gorge in eastern Bay of Plenty.

"SH2 Waimana Gorge is currently affected by a large slip blocking part of the road," says a police spokesperson.

"Traffic management is in place."

Motorists are advised to take an alternate route, or expect delays.
