One person has suffered a minor injury following a vehicle crash on State Highway 2, near Whakamarama.

Police said the vehicle crash was reported to them about 6.35pm.

"This is a crash where a car’s gone down a bank on SH2, near Barrett Road," said a police spokesperson.

"Initial indications suggest two people were in the vehicle, but only one suffered a minor injury."

SH2 was reported to be down to one lane for a short time.

"The road's reopened now," said a police spokesperson.
