Radius Matua will be celebrating its 11th annual Spring Fete this Saturday.

This beloved event, running from 9am - 12pm draws together residents, their families, and the broader Tauranga community for a day filled with fun and fundraising.

This year’s fundraising initiative aims to enhance Radius Matua’s garden spaces by providing durable furniture and sunshades for the popular turtle enclosure.

“When I started this tradition 11 years ago, I could only dream it would grow like this," said Recreation and Quality Coordinator Klara Luxford Rulíšek.

"The whole team is behind it, and it’s wonderful to see how the community has come together to help make Radius Matua a great place for local elderly to live.”

The fete will feature 14 stalls, showcasing pottery created by residents, as well as activities such as tombola, a white elephant table, cake sales, barista coffee, and sausage sizzles. There will also be engaging activities for children, along with a selection of books, baked goods, and fresh produce.

Residents have eagerly contributed to the preparations, assisting with gardening and crafting, and many will help run the stalls on the day of the event.

Everyone is invited to join the festivities, which offer a perfect opportunity to connect with residents, staff, and fellow locals. Attendees will witness firsthand the positive impact this cherished tradition has on the community.

Radius Matua is located at 124 Levers Rd, Matua. The Spring Fete will run from 9am - 12pm on Saturday, October 19.
