Initial report, 4.43 pm: A serious crash has been reported to emergency services on SH2 Waioeka Gorge near Waioeka Pa Rd

An NZTA spokesperson said delays are possible and diversions may be required.

"Follow directions of emergency response crews at the scene.

"An update will be provided as soon as more information is available."
